By using With Drop, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2.1 Audio Recordings

When you record or upload audio files for transcription, we temporarily process these files to generate text transcriptions. Audio files are stored temporarily on AWS S3 during processing and are automatically deleted after transcription is complete.

2.2 Transcription Data

Text transcriptions generated from your audio files are stored on your device and may be synced to our servers for backup and synchronization purposes. You have full control over this data and can delete it at any time.

2.3 Device Identifier

We collect a unique device identifier stored in your iOS Keychain. This identifier is used to:

  • Track your free transcription quota
  • Associate your subscription status with your device
  • Prevent abuse of free tier services

This identifier is not linked to any personally identifiable information and cannot be used to identify you personally.

2.4 Usage Data

We collect basic usage statistics including:

  • Number of transcriptions performed
  • Total minutes of audio transcribed
  • Subscription status and renewal information
  • Technical information about errors or crashes

2.5 No User Accounts

With Drop does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personally identifiable information. All identification is done through your device identifier only.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Transcription Services: To process your audio files and generate accurate text transcriptions
  • Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve the App's functionality and performance
  • Quota Management: To track your free tier usage and subscription status
  • Technical Support: To diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Fraud Prevention: To prevent abuse of free tier services

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide and enhance our services:

4.1 RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

4.2 OpenAI Whisper API (Transcription)

4.3 AWS S3 (File Storage)

4.4 Apple In-App Purchases

5. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • All data transmission between the App and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols
  • Audio files stored on AWS S3 use server-side encryption
  • Access to your data is restricted to authorized systems and personnel only
  • Your device identifier is stored securely in the iOS Keychain
  • We regularly review and update our security practices

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data according to the following policies:

  • Audio Files: Deleted automatically from AWS S3 immediately after transcription is complete (typically within minutes)
  • Transcriptions: Stored on your device indefinitely unless you delete them. Server backups (if enabled) are retained until you delete the transcription or uninstall the App
  • Device Identifier: Retained as long as you use the App to maintain your quota and subscription status
  • Usage Data: Retained for up to 12 months for analytics and service improvement purposes

7. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right to Deletion: You can request that we delete your data by uninstalling the App or contacting us
  • Right to Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to Data Portability: You can request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to Object: You can object to certain types of data processing
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw your consent to data processing at any time
